Opera browser
Fourteen independent Windows Mobile experts selected Opera Mobile as the winner in the all-important Internet Browser category in the 2007 Best Software Awards. All providers and developers of mobile Internet technology and applications have been analyzed by a judging panel of experts from the wireless community. Among main competitors there also count ThunderHawk and Skweezer, both highly evolved applications.

The greatest advantage that made judges choose Opera Mobile over all other competing softwares is that it resembled most of all the features and advantages that desktop browsers have to offer their users. Moreover, it’s a perfect match with mobile devices running on Windows Mobile. The software is currently being used by some of the leading handset producers, such as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, KDDI, Kyocera and many others. This preference should also account as recognition for the browser’s quality, although the official award is just as good as it gets.

Opera Mini 4 on Nokia
After the beta version, now it’s time for the final version of Opera Mini 4, that offers an impressive desktop overview mode that can display the web pages exactly as on a PC. The new Opera Mini automatically reduces the transferred pages’ size, for a faster loading, reducing this way the cost of surfing. The intuitive OperaZoom can be used to zoom into the page and view any content you want. Also, the Opera’s Small Screen Rendering can be selected to get rid of horizontal scrolling.

Opera Mini 4 supports Opera Link, a new platform that lets users synchronize their online life across any mobile with an Opera browser or any other browser that can access My Opera, Opera’s social network. Opera Link synchronizes bookmarks and Opera Speed Dial, quickly and easily and delivers your information where you want it to go.

“Two years ago, we introduced Opera Mini to the world because we wanted to bring the Web to users everywhere. Today, Opera Mini is the world’s most popular mobile browser”, says Jon von Tetzchner, Chief Executive Officer at Opera. “As a result, the mobile Web is now a mass phenomenon. Opera Mini 4 raises the bar for user-friendly access to the Web on any mobile phone, anywhere in the world.”

JavaFX Sun just released new mobile platform, this application called JavaFX. Sun has also been working on another project aside from JavaFX Mobile. Curriki is an open source education curriculum meant to help schools from rural areas to reach the same level of opportunities as those in cities.

Sun’s new operating platform follows the pattern set by Google, which they consider to be the best search engine available. This company has built their applications on Java technology too and now is seeing great profit rates from people who are using internet from their handsets.

“At JavaOne we introduced Java FX, a Java scripting language that allows individuals who are content developers to develop rich scripting languages. What it means is that companies like YouTube and Flickr now can develop powerful front-end clients. This is the ability to create and drive innovation on small devices, cell phones, PDAs and the like”, said Reginald Hutcherson, head of technology evangelism for Sun’s Developer Network.
